Brooksbank’s Magnificent Seven Ace the Bebras Challenge

We’re thrilled to announce that seven of our students at Brooksbank have absolutely crushed the Bebras Challenge! This annual event, hosted by the Raspberry Pi Foundation and Oxford University, is designed to test the mettle of young computer geniuses, offering them a taste of computer science and computational thinking.

For the first time ever, Brooksbank students entered the fray, and they delivered outstanding performances that have made us incredibly proud. Our magnificent seven - Mia from 7A, Freddie S from 8U, Oliver from 8S, Oliver from 9T, Lily from 9D, Libby from 9L, and Harry C from 9L - all secured the prestigious Gold Award! This achievement places them in the top 10% of the 330,000 competitors across the UK.

But the accolades don’t stop there. Freddie’s exceptional performance earned him a spot in the top 1% nationwide, while Oliver also shone brightly, securing a place in the top 3% in the country.

The Bebras Challenge is more than just a competition; it’s a platform that ignites a passion for computer science in young minds, encouraging them to think logically and solve problems creatively. Our students have demonstrated not only their intellectual prowess but also their ability to excel in a highly competitive environment.

We’re immensely proud of Mia, Freddie, Oliver, Lily, Libby, and Harry for their remarkable achievements. Their success is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the excellent support from their teachers and families.
