I had an early passion for football and was fortunate to be quite good at it. This was recognised by my teachers; I received a special award for Achievement in Sport. My love for coaching started during the CSLA course in Sixth Form, and my teachers encouraged me to pursue my ambition further.

After my BSc degree at Leeds Becket, I was offered a full time job at a start up company in football. The role allowed me to make many connections in the sector.

I currently live in Singapore as a director of my own Football Academy for 250 children, and have an official partnership with Blackburn Rovers Football Club who regularly come to Singapore to conduct camps and talent ID. In 2024, we have plans to take a group of players to stay and train at Blackburn.

David’s message is:

“Volunteer and Network”

“Get as much experience as you can. This will be invaluable to you after a career in sports. Don't be afraid of speaking to new people, they can often help you achieve what you want in your career. If you want to become a sports professional, don't get frustrated by things out of your control, focus on you and do the best you can.”
